Madison House is much more than the student volunteer center at the University of Virginia. It is a bridge for thousands of students who choose to give their time to the community and a second home for hundreds of student leaders who manage them. It is a small house that makes a huge difference to more than 100 community partner agencies and over 20,000 area residents. It is a place with brightly colored offices and lots of signs that say "volunteers make a difference." It is an organization from which 23,000 alumni can proudly say, "I was part of something special". As a student-led, self-governed organization, Madison House receives no direct financial support from the University. The Madison House operating budget relies on generous donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Contributions are vital to provide training, advising and program support for more than 3,000 volunteers and 200 student leaders who provide over 110,000 hours of service to the community each year.
