Madison House #GivingTuesday Donors Give $38,091 To Support Student Service

With the overwhelming support of Madison House and UVA alumni, parents and friends, Madison House met and surpassed its #GivingTuesday goals. In addition to the initial $15,000 matching gifts, Madison House's #GivingTuesday efforts raised another $23,091 for a total of $38,091 in donations to support UVA student service, leadership and community. This amount will make a difference every day in Madison House's efforts to strengthen student leadership training and resources, expand programs to serve additional community partner organizations, enhance partnerships with UVA, and each any other ambitious goals as the nonprofit approaches its 50th anniversary in 2019.

"We want to thank the Madison House supporters who came together on #GivingTuesday to celebrate our mission to coordinate volunteers, develop leaders, build partnerships and promote lifelong volunteer service," said Madison House Executive Director Tim Freilich. "Each gift makes a tangible and positive impact for Madison House's 3,100 UVA student volunteers, many community partners and the thousands of clients we work with together."

Madison House Director of Development Melissa Fountain hopes to build on the success and enthusiasm of #GivingTuesday in the months and year ahead. "As we look to Giving ToHoosDay in April 2017, we hope donors will feel inspired to issue their own matching challenge on behalf of Madison House for this University-wide day of philanthropy next spring."
