CVILLE TAX Aid Coalition & VITA Partners

One of the primary goals of the Cville Tax Aid Coalition is to help improve the financial lives of our community residents. Through this program, eligible taxpayers can save money on tax preparation fees and avoid excessive interest for Refund Anticipation Loans.

Additionally, a significant number of people also fail to claim tax credits for which they are eligible, particularly the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The Earned Income Tax Credit is the federal government's most effective antipoverty program for working households. Providing additional income through a refundable tax credit for people who work but do not earn high incomes. In 2018 these working family credits lifted an estimated 5.6 million people out of poverty, including about 3 million children.

Through this program, Cville Tax Aid Coalition members help both individuals/families and the community we serve.
