Schedule a time to drop off your taxes

** There are no more drop off appointments available for tax season 2024 **

During tax season, IRS-trained volunteers may be able to assist you with preparing and e-filing your basic federal and Virginia state returns free of charge through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program if your annual household income is less than $64,000.

Cville Tax Aid coalition member organizations use IRS-approved software to help taxpayers input and e-file basic tax returns that fall within the scope of service for our tax sites. VITA preparers are not accountants or tax professionals, and are not able to provide specific tax advice. For complex or unusual returns please consult a tax professional.

Eligible taxpayers can schedule a time to drop off their tax materials for preparation at the locations below. When you drop off your taxes, a volunteer will complete an intake form to make sure all necessary materials are present. Please allow 30 minutes to complete the drop-off intake. Turnaround time is generally three business days.
